About APGBIS

APGBIS is an Arabian Plant Gene Bank Information System developed and powered by Arab Organization For Agriculture Development (AOAD).

The application aims at laying down a comprehensive action plan for the management of plant genetic resources gene banks in the Arab states as well as develop an information system and database to function as an early warning. As well as reserve the intellectual property rights of the Member States on genetic resources and meeting the obligations of the international agreement such as ITPGRFA, CBD, Nagoya protocol, etc.

The data recorded includes relevant information about the conservation process starting from the exploration and collection to the preservation process, finally follow the condition of PGR exchange in a legal manner.
